bangkok pride to give 300,000 baht to local charities

Bangkok Pride Coalition (BPC) announced today that over 300,000 baht is to be presented to three needy Bangkok charities. The money, raised during Bangkok Pride 2002, will be presented to Mercy Center and Girl’s Home, Alden House and Hospice of St. Clare. The presentation will take place on Thursday, 6 February at the annual Community Appreciation Party.

The event will begin at 7:00 PM at Freeman Dance Arena on Soi Freeman off Silom Road. At 8:00 PM, the charities presentation will follow a tribute to the 100’s of community businesses and volunteers who gave their time, personal effort and money to make this year’s Festival the largest and most successful Pride event in all of Asia.

According to the announcement Bangkok Pride 2002 attracted 350,000 people to the all-day Bangkok Pride/Loy Krathong Festival and Gay Pride Parade that was held on Sunday, 17 November.
