pattaya gay festival 2002 raises more than 3.5 million baht

After a very successful final few days, the Pattaya Gay Festival announced this week that they had raised more than 3.5 million Baht for local charaties, surpasing their 2001 effort of 3.2 million Baht.
Dr. Philippe Seure, who runs Heartt 2000 (the main beneficiary of the PGF funds), suggested that Pattayaland Soi 3 (Boyztown) be renamed "The Street of Life", because of the incredible effect the fundraising has had in saving hundreds of lives of those affected with the HIV virus.

It was also rumoured that the Pattaya Gay Festival may be changing it's name to Pattaya Pride next year - pride certainly seems to be the in word in festivals these days!
