Phuket Pride to Host Fifth Annual Straits Games
Saturday, July 01, 2006

The Straits Games 2006 - “Games With No Boundaries” will be held October 26 to 29, 2006 in Phuket, Thailand.

The Straits Games (TSG) started as a friendly annual sports event between Leadership Programme Graduates (LPG) of Malaysia and “Men after Work” (MAW) of Singapore, to foster friendship and promote a healthy lifestyle in the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) communities. With the growing interest of TSG, this annual event has gradually expanded their participants from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand. It is expected that over 400 individuals from these countries will be represented at these games.

For the first time, Thailand will be hosting this fifth annual games which will be held in October from the 26 to 29, 2006. As the host organization, Phuket Pride will be responsible to coordinate a series of daily activities for the participants as well as the many sporting events (indoor volleyball, badminton and bowling). The highlight of the event will be the awards banquet which will be on the 29th of October.

For those in Thailand who would like to participate and represent our country, please email Daniel See at info@cluboneseven.net or Vicky Junk at iamvickky@hotmail.com to get more information.
