It never rains but it pours here - the fun that is, not the real rain! In between the occasional showers there has been so much going on in Silom Soi 4 it is impossible to keep up - parties every week this month and special promotions to keep everybody happy! What's pouring in Pattaya is money: into the Pattaya Gay Festival charity coffers as they continue their fundraising as only the Pattayan's know how!

The fun in Silom Soi 4 got off to a great start with Balcony's 6th Birthday in 6 May with the biggest birthday cake I have seen in a long time! Like all good birthday parties there were the usual clowns, balloons and a magician keeping people entertained, and of course prizes, and what Balcony event would be completed without some shows from their ever-popular dancing waiters! The fun continued the next week with the Soi 4 Pink Party on 13 May with Balcony, Roxy, Sphinx and Telephone joining forces to help officially launch Bangkok Pride 2004. Shows were provided by the Throb/Splash team on a flying visit from Pattaya, the X-treme dancers, Balcony's dancing waiters, and other entertainers from Sphinx, Roxy and Mambo. The Mr and Miss Pink competition attracted a lot of entrants and some frantic vote buying via 20 Baht roses producing some surprising results! The 10,000 Baht major prize made the raffle draw a much anticipated part of the evening - winning numbers for the money and the minor prizes are up at Telephone if you still need to claim a prize. This week sees the Miss Telephone competition at Telephone on 20 May, and next week Sphinx rounds the month off with their 11th Birthday celebrations on 27 May - they are also celebrating at Sphinx in Phuket on the same day, with free drinks and a lucky draw at both locations! And to keep everyone amused during the wet season, Telephone and Balcony both have their regular lucky draws going, Balcony is even doing a special lucky draw every hour any night it rains! Of course there was/is more going on in Bangkok than just in Soi 4 - the Ramkhamheng bars have been having their share of fun as well with a fancy dress night at Dude on 16 May and a SheMale contest at ICK on 19 May, G-Host has a Star hunt on May 20 and Miss SeeMen is coming up on 13 June. Elsewhere in Bangkok, Tawan got the muscle display off to a good start 9 May, Slyper X had their Big Boy party on 15 May and their regular end of month competition this month is Man of Taurus on 29 May - see the calendar for more.

Down Pattaya way the fundraising and fun continued with more than 92,000 baht raised for PGF charities at the Mata Hari dinner on 10 May. The PGF football competition starts 28 May and their golf competition is next month. The next party event will be the disco dance night at Throb/Splash in July.
