2-29   Bienvenue a “La Fete”! Running from 2 February to 29 March, the eighth French-Thai cultural festival under this name is being organised by L’Alliance Francaise de Bangkok as it celebrates its 100th anniversary year. In addition to a season of French film, around 20 live shows will be seen in Bangkok, with cinema or performance events in Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui and Hua Hin. Though not a specifically gay happening, La Fete usually delivers a high level of style on stage and screen, and a high level of cologne among the audience. Details.
3   Manager Glen's 50th Birthday Bash at Copa Showbar, Pattaya, with drag phenomena Miss Jason and Maisie Trollette.
3   Dress Code Party in Paradise Complex, Phuket; a Phuket Pride event. Go and enjoy, but think ahead about what you’ll wear, and on which side you'll wear it. Get expert advice from the Deviants’ Dictionary (not for the faint hearted)!
14   St Valentine’s Day, celebrated at Copa Showbar, Pattaya, in Paradise Complex, Phuket, and at other venues throughout gay Thailand. Balcony, Bangkok promises “sentimental music”: let’s hope not too many of the regular customers try to join in and sing along!
19   Mr Pattaya Pride 2012 contest starts 11:00 PM at the Pattaya bar with so much pedigree it has a triple-barreled name: Boyz, Boyz, Boyz. Your 300 Baht admission ticket also gets you a drink, while 100 Baht goes to charity. More on Pattaya’s annual fun- and fund-raising project here.
24   The indefatigable Phuket Pride presents a Pink & Pink Party. Please don’t get confused with Pinky and Perky, the piglet twins and former superstars of British TV. Improbably, they came to fame in the era of black and white television, but the party in Paradise Complex, Phuket, should be a riot of colour.
